In order to demonstrably and reliably disinfect water with a transmission between 80% and 99%, we only supply a validated, tried and tested UV system. Depending on the transmission, capacities up to 465m3/h (129 l/s) can be handled. The VR system has been validated in accordance with the NEN-EN 14897 standard and can be widely used for, for example, the drinking water market, the process industry, shipping, non-residential construction and installation technology. The VR UV systems can be configured in series or parallel, providing flexibility depending on the disinfection needs and system design.
The VR UV system has been extensively tested to achieve up to 99.999% removal of contaminants, validated through rigorous bacterial spore testing.
The validation tests use a UV-C dose between 400 to 600 J/m². This ensures that the system performs effectively across its lifespan. During this validation process, we also vary the light transmittance (UV-C transmission) of different liquids and the UV-C output of the lamp. We can guarantee that the UV-C dose and reduction requirement meets the end of the lamp's lifespan.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
UV intensity sensors
A UV sensor is a valuable extension to an UV system that is used for liquid disinfection. The sensors measure the UV-C intensity on the wall of the reactor, the furthest away from the lamp. With this intensity measurement, a change in UV intensity can be measured which is the result of variation in the transmittance of the incoming liquid, reduced lamp output or pollution of the quartz tube. A difference can be made between the relative and absolute UV sensor.
Temperature sensors
The temperature of the water in the UV reactor influences the treatment capacity of the system to a greater or lesser extent. Higher temperatures lower the UV-C dose/intensity. That’s why we indicate the parameters that the temperature should be maintained within, preferably. Measurements are made on the wall of the reactor via a ther mocouple. The temperature sensors also offer protection, by pre-alarming and switching off, against overheating with too low or no flow through the reactors.
